See all accredited schools at www.ikointl.com. If you get offered a lesson by someone in Brisbane, make sure you ask if the instructor is a qualified IKO Instructor and that both the instructor and the school have insurance. Also ask if you will be issued with an IKO Card at the end of the lesson. The card gives you heaps of benefits but also regconition and access to rental gear around the world. If the instructor is not qualified, you are doing an illegal lesson by a backyard operator or an illegal lesson run by a shop with no valid insurance, and the local council will be very interested in hearing from you. Do not be fooled even if it is a retail shop advised you to use the operator. Many shops do not even have qualified instructors but they teach illegally. On the day of the lesson, make sure you ask to see a copy of the instructor's qualification and a copy of the instructor's insurance certificate as well as the school's insurance certificate. If they can't produce the above 3 documents, nor they give excuse they can't issue you with an IKO card, cancel the lesson and ask for your money back. Seek a properly accredited and insured school like ourselves. Don't risk it!
