Landcarts & Buggying

LANDCARTS & BUGGYING

At Surf Connect, we aren’t just about kitesurfing lessons and stand up paddle boards. For those that like to keep their feet on dry land but also like to get their adrenaline pumping, we offer some fun-filled landcarting lessons.

Kitebuggies

Kite sailing isn’t the only way of having fun with a kite. A kite buggy is a light, purpose-built cart powered by a kite capable of high speeds. These single-seated buggies have one steerable front wheel and two fixed rear wheels. The driver sits in the seat located in the middle of the vehicle and accelerates and slows down by applying steering manoeuvres in coordination with flying manoeuvres of the kite. This activity is called kite buggying. The speed achieved in kite buggies by skilled drivers can excel past 100 km/h, and lessons are run at Sandgate Beach.

Sailbuggies (Blokart)

A sail buggy is a light, purpose-built cart powered by a sail, alike dinghy sailing, but on land. These buggies are also single-seated vehicles and have one steerable front wheel and two fixed rear wheels. The driver sits in the seat located in the middle of the vehicle and accelerates and slows down by applying steering manoeuvres in coordination with flying manoeuvres of the sail. This activity is called sail buggying. The speed achieved in land buggies by skilled drivers can also surpass 100 km/h, and lessons are again run at Sandgate Beach.

The carts we use at our school are manufactured by the high-performing and reliable Blokart. It is the ultimate sailing experience, entering the world of competition and camaraderie. Harness natures power for your enjoyment! Why not give it a go?
